On October 1, 2009, BiGAUSTIN kicked off our first initiative that was used to empower displaced/laid-off workers to rebuild the Texas economy through entrepreneurship. America was built upon the efforts of Small Businesses, providing two thirds of the jobs nationally, according to data from Small Business Association and the Texas Workforce Commission, respectively.
On October 14, 2010, Small Business at Work, in conjunction with the Office of the Governor and the Texas Workforce Commission will educate, provide opportunity and assistance to the Small Business community by introducing the Skills for Small Business Program. This event will provide an avenue for training providers, small business service providers and lending institutions to outreach and effectively impact the community. Through our efforts we have established a collaborative with local business agencies, chambers of commerce and organizations to come together and pool all of our resources and capabilities in order to supercharge the local economy and small businesses of Central Texas.
